Dear Donna, I am at my wits end and hope you may have an alternative solution to my problem. Ellie and Olivia have shown no progress. I was counting on the Self-Esteem Spirit Essence but I am unable to use it as often as necessary and so I have given up on it. Ellie now lives in a laundry basket in my basement and Olivia lives in a closet. They are so terrified of Gracie. Gracie still hunts for them and terrifies them when she finds them. I rub the Peacemaker on her ears in the morning, and put it in her food and water daily. I have seen a slight improvement (probably would have happened anyway) but not enough. Ellie and Olivia won't even stay in the same room as her. The mention of her name makes them run. This is too heart-breaking. I am getting attached to Gracie but hate what she has done to the others. I would never want to give her away at this point but I don't know what else to do. Any additional advice would be greatly appreciated. thank you very much, Peggy
RESPONSE
Peggy:
Sorry to hear things haven't improved but don't give up hope yet! Because of the complexity of your specific issue, please use the "Contact Us" form directly so we can email you with details. St. John's Wort may help, increasing play time, and trying different Bach Flowers should also help. Click the Bach Flowers Link on the left for a list of the most common flower essences used with cats and instructions on how to use them. Click on the Cats Stories link then click "Lily's Story" to read an excellent example of how St. John's Wort help her with stress and anxiety. Contrary to how it sounds, both hiding and aggression are signs of stress and anxiety in cats. All 3 of your babies are anxious and stressed but there are several things you can do to help them. Hope to hear from you soon!

Spirit Essences by: Peggy
Hi Donna, I ordered Peacemaker for Gracie and Self-Esteem for Ellie and Olivia. I should be receiving the order any day now. Can you tell me exactly how I am going to administer these? I know there will be instructions enclosed but I thought with your experience, you may be able to add some additional instructions that may not be enclosed with the bottles. I want to be ready to go as soon as the essences arrive. Thanks so much for your help, Peggy Fernandez
RESPONSE:
Using them in their water and rubbing on them works best. Add Peacemaker to their water dishes every day. Put a few drops of the Peacemaker in your hand and rub in on to Gracie's head, ears, and back of the neck area. Rub the Self-Esteem on Ellie and Olivia in the same manner. Rub each one on the cats 4 times a day if possible. You should start to see results within a week or two. (Sometimes within a few days!) Once you notice some improvement, start cutting back on the frequency of the rubbing but continue the Peacemaker in the water. If things start to revert back to the original, stressful behavior, increase the frequency again. Don't mix the Peacemaker and Self-Esteem together. They will cancel each other out. And putting the Peacemaker in their water will in no way decrease it's effectiveness. Spray some Peacemaker around as well. To make a spray, add a few drops (or droppers depending on the size of the bottle) to a spray bottle filled with spring water from a bottle. If Ellie or Olivia are too stressed to let you near them to rub the Self-Esteem on, spray some Rescue Remedy around where they are hiding until they calm down and allow you to touch them again. Make sure Gracie is not in the room with them when you rub the essence on. You want them to be calm and since Gracie is the source of their stress, if she is near them, they won't respond well to the treatment. Hope this info helps and let us know what happens!
