Two of my cats are attacking my older cat all females

My Oldest Cat

My Oldest Cat

I have a 6 year old cat, and two 2 year old cats.
One weekend I had taken my 6 year old cat to my mom/dads house so she could stay the night and visit. While there my brothers cat had attacked her so she was terrified. the next morning I brought her home and the youngest cat started attacking her so I had to separate them for almost two weeks till I finally got it resolved.

Two nights ago the middle cat got out and come back the next night, when she got home the baby started hissing and growling, and then attacked the older one(Older one is a lover not a fighter.)So then the other cat gained in. so i separated them last night and when I got up in the morning they seemed fine. After a couple of hour's it happened again. They both teamed up on her and she was so scared she pied all over herself. I love all my cats dearly but can not put up with it anymore. The oldest cat is my first pet so you can only imagine how big of a bond we have, if I don't figure something out today I have no other choice but to get ride of the baby. But I don't want to but I will have to do what is best for all of them.

WHAT SHOULD I DO SOMEONE HELP!!!

P.S. I was thinking of taking the baby to my brother's and putting his cats in the room while she is in the canal and maybe it will scare her and she will realize that she isn't that tough, or give her up which I don't want to do.

RESPONSE:

All of the incidences of attacking that you mention involving one cat being gone from the home and then returning. The "attacking" cats are reacting to the scent changes. You need to comingle their scents again by rubbing each with a towel to catch their scent and rubbing the towels on the other cats. When they are together in the same room and behaving, give all of them treats so they associate good things with each other. The younger ones need more play time especially before bed. They need to be too tired to pick on the older cat and to relese pent up energy. Play will do the job nicely. Trying to purposely teach your cat the she is "not that tough" by scaring her will only make her more agressive. She is not attacking because she thinks she is tough, it is because she is insecure. Positive reinforcement and more play will help increase her confidence and calm her need to assert herself on others. Give it a try before you throw away your cats!
