Skin problems

We have a cat that has flea allergies. We have treated for fleas and have that pretty much under control. The problem is this, one of our babies is so allergic to flea bites that she has scratched herself raw in several places and even with the fleas under control she still has the raw places. What can I use on her to help her heal and not itch so she doesn't scratch the areas?
Thanks,
Chris

RESPONSE:

Try some Granick's Bitter Apple. It tastes bad and will stop her chewing. It won't harm her and you can get it at most pet shops. If the problem is very severe, she may need medication, usually steroids, at least initially to calm things down.
Your vet can tell you if medication is necessary.
