kitten!!!

by ammu
(city)

i have a new born kitten at my door step an its mother doesn't want it. what should i do ?

RESPONSE

Ammu:

A new born kitten will not survive more than a few hours without it's mother so you need to act fast!
Get some kitten milk and nursing bottle at the nearest pet supply store and see if it will nurse from a bottle. The kitten will need to nurse every 2 - 3 hours. Do not give it regular milk. It will cause diarrhea and lead to dehydration.
If this is not possible or it won't nurse, take it to the nearest emergency vet.
Prepare yourself for the possibility that no matter what you do, the kitten may die. The older the kitten, the better it's chances. Kittens are very fragile especially in the first few days of life. It may not be strong enough to survive.
Whatever you do, don't wait! The kitten needs help now!
