Owls are Killing our Kittens HELP!
by: Jerry

I live in an apartment complex in Northern Florida. We have several stray cats outside we feed every day. As many of you reading already suspect, these animals have become a part of the family. Problem is, they get pregnant like crazy. And the kittens just disappear. I just had a neighbor mention to me she believed an owl was preying on a new litter of kittens last night. I am desperate as I believe the owls have taken over eight kittens in the past year. What can I do? It's scary. I like to hear the owls at night. But my goodness, these things are horrible for cats and their young. It's enough to break your heart.

How to protect cats from owls in my enclosure
by: Candice

Thanks Donna for the great advice. Built the enclosure and covered the top with bird netting, the type you use to keep the birds off your fruit etc. Almost invisible. Our (now 9 rescue cats) love their new enclosure. I advise anyone having behavior issues with their cats invest in an enclosure - it will work wonders.

RESPONSE

Glad to hear the netting idea worked! It's amazing what a difference a bit of outdoors (safely) can do for cats - especially rescue cats! Enjoy!!
