Help! My Siamese is Throwing Up!

My Siamese has been throwing up for almost 3 days. It's bright yellowish/neon green, which seems like body acid to me (as if she were dry heaving and that's all that came up). She did not eat for 2 days, which is Very unlike her. She began eating again this a.m. and did not get sick while I was home. I left for about 5 hrs and came home to find more throw up. Same color, same amount, and only 2 small pieces of food in it. I would like to treat her w/ Bach Flowers but cannot find any specific suggestions. Help Please!

RESPONSE
Your baby needs a visit to the vet! If she is also not drinking or is not able to keep down water the risk of dehydration is great. Take her ASAP! She needs a diagnosis!
Bach Flower remedies are normally used for stress. Until you know the cause of her vomiting you shouldn't give them to her.
If she is cleared medically and the vet determines she has developed gastritis (or something similar) there are a few things you can do to help ease her tummy woes.
Give her small amounts of food more frequently - a couple of spoonfuls 4-6 times a day.
If she eats dry food, stop giving it to her. It can be hard on a sensitive stomach.
See if she will eat some baby food (we use Gerber's 2nd foods chicken, ham and turkey). Most cats love it! Try a spoonful or 2.
If she takes it well and keeps it down, start mixing in a few pieces of raw (if she'll eat it) or cooked chicken.
If she does good with that, start mixing the baby food with some good quality canned food. If she takes it well, start gradually reducing the amount of baby food until she is eating only the canned food.
Do this over a few days to a week. This will enable her to get some nutrition and fluid and is easy on the digestion.
The vet may give her something to calm the stomach and/or decrease inflammation. Feeding her this way initially will help her to better tolerate the medicine.
There is a natural remedy from Spirit Essences (Click the link on the left to learn more about Spirit Essences and get to the website) called Happy Tummy which helps with gastrointestinal problems in cats. We have found this to be very effective in cats with chronic GI issues.
However, since this is a new and unusual problem for your cat, order some and while you are waiting for it to come in the mail, get her to the vet and start her on the baby food - canned food diet!
She could have a simple virus that will run its course or it could be something serious. I can't emphasize enough the importance of having her examined by a vet right away.
Please let us know the outcome!
