hardcore Bullying

O.k. it goes like this have to male cats for years, then by happenstance i got 3 female kittens i call the trinity! Mouse a.k.a mean girl has always had a attitude but i have never seen anything like this before. Georgia showed up literally out of the blue. she is very sweet been in a house before and seems to take everything very well. now these cats are 1-2 years old. Mouse is so focused on poor Georgia and sits in front of her jumps her won't let her go to litter etc... the focus from Mouse on Georgia is so intense i'm yelling and throwing things at mouse almost all day just to get her to let up. They don't have to be "sister's" but i do need some peace between them. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thankyou, Holly

RESPONSE:

First, stop yelling. Mouse likes the attention. Like any youngster craving attention, even negative attention is a good thing. The more she provoles a response from you, the more she will perform the same behavior.
Second, I am assuming all of the cats have been de-sexed. If not, get them spayed ASAP or the problem will get worse.
Third, I assume there sre several litter boxes placed in different areas around the house. If not, remedy this immediately. Your bully cannot guard them all and the other cats deserve a place to potty without being attacked.
Last, Mouse needs more attention. Play with her more often so she can burn off her excess energy in a more productive way. When she starts going after Georgia, use a wand or fishing pole toy, ball, etc. to distract her. Change her focus in a positive way not a negative one that occurs with yelling from you. Feed them in seperate areas and give them treats when they are in the same room and behaving.
Try these things and see what happens. Be consistant and diligent. Behavior modification will not occur over night.
Let us know how it goes.
