feral kittens

by Donna
(Crestview, FL)

I have 2 7 month old feral kittens in my garage -- I also have 4 household cats, ranging in age from 8 to 20. How do I integrate the feral kittens into the fold? Also, they still run from me but are starting to explore the house when all other animals are outside. I also have a small dog.

RESPONSE:

Providing they have been spayed/neutered and vaccinated, I'd just let them continue to explore and encounter the rest of the animals. At 7 mos, they are smart enough to avoid serious confrontation yet still young enough to integrate provided they are allowed to do it at their own pace. Your existing animals will teach them the rules of the household.

Have fun!
