Feral Cat in Multiple Cat Household

I have two feral cats that are sisters. One is very nervous and runs around a lot. Often she gets diarrhea which I'm sure is partly to do with us giving them table scraps (that is how we fooled them into loving us when they both had lived in the shelter since they were 5 mos old and we got them when they were 2 1/2 yrs old).

I don't want to take her to the vet unless it's absolutely necessary as I don't think she will do well with being caught, put in a cage and driven to the vet.

Any ideas what I can give her? She has a healthy appetite, is very active and loves to cuddle on the bed.

let me know
thanks
Jayme

RESPONSE:

No cat enjoys going to the vet but your girl should go anyway. Bring a stool sample for testing. It is possible that she has an infection that is causing the diarrhea. Until she is medically cleared, I don't want to recommend anything that could possibly make her worse or mask a more serious problem. And yes, please stop feeding the table scraps - they are not good for her.
