Feeding Multiple Cats

by mel
(Mass.)

Hi. I have two cats, both are 4 years old, and one is 11 lbs(Huey) while the other is 7 lbs.(India) I was wondering if someone could offer recommendations for how to ensure Huey doesn't continue to eat India's food.I've gone so far as to separating feeding and their feeder. Does anyone know of a product that ensures separate feeding?

RESPONSE:

The only thing we know that ensures seperate feeding is seperate rooms! Cats that want more food will go after any food even if another cat is eating it. And some cats are so timid that they will go hungry to avoid a confrontation with another cat who is stealing their food.
At our house, the timid ones will usually wait until the other cats are done then eat. We save some food just for them so they can eat at their leisure - but we stand guard to distract the piggy ones that try to come back for more!
If anyone knows of anything that will help, let us know!
