Cat ratio

by Christine

I have one female and 4 males. All are fixed. I have heard that there should be the same amount of males as females. Is this true? How are the dynamics effected with only one female? Should I consider getting another female?

RESPONSE:

As long as they are all fixed, we haven't found that it makes any difference. We have had more females at a given time and more males at another and it doesn't seem to matter. As long as they all are getting along, don't worry about it.
