Best Friends now hate eachother! Please help!

My cats are inside cats and they got out today and ended up in a fight with a nieghbor's cat. Now my younger cat (less than a yr old) wants to keep fighting my older cat (almost 2 yrs). They were best friends this morning and now they can't be in the same room.

RESPONSE:

This will pass. They were VERY excited by their adventure and the stress and tension is still present. Increase their play time to help them burn off this excess energy, give them treats when they are together and behaving, and give it time. They will get over it - eventually.
